Mission

  • Lincoln County Department of Emergency Management supports its communities by coordinating and integrating activities necessary to develop, sustain, and improve Lincoln County's ability to mitigate against, prepare for, respond to, and recover from threatened or actual natural disasters, acts of terrorism, and/or other man-made disasters.
  • And to reduce the loss of life and property while safeguarding Lincoln County’s institutions from all hazards through a comprehensive, risk-based emergency management program.

Vision

  • Lincoln County Emergency Management Department strives to deliver the highest level of disaster and emergency response efforts to the public by utilizing its core values through teamwork, dedication, safety, excellent customer service, integrity, accountability, respect/trust, and professionalism.
  • Lincoln County is more than the sum of its tangible infrastructure, it’s the diversity and quality of its people who invest in, build, and defend what they call home. It’s the people that make the community. And it is their resilience to overcome adversity together that secures Lincoln County’s future.

Lincoln County Emergency Operations Plan (LCEOP)

Lincoln County’s Emergency Management Department is dedicated and committed to working with the county, the public, and other emergency service departments to plan for and respond to disasters and emergencies before, during, and after these incidents occur. Building a resilient community requires cooperation from everyone who calls Lincoln County their home. This includes participation in exercises, workshops, and educational seminars and training. It is the cumulative efforts of the people, stakeholders, and government that create the Emergency Operations Plan. The LC-EOP must be practiced utilizing the different response agencies such as the Fire Districts, Emergency Medical Services, Sheriff’s Office, Health Department, Highway Department, School Districts, LC Hospital, Electric and Gas utilities, communication companies, local business and supply-chain stakeholders, other agencies from neighboring counties, and the State of Kansas. The interoperability of everyone listed determines the sustainability of the community, which all begins with local first.
