The focus of our office is on keeping accurate records for our costituents of Marshall County. We keep a daily record of all of the Land Transactions and UCC's filed in Marshall County. The office staff strives to be professional, courteous, and helpful and serve the public to the best of our ability.
The Register of Deeds position is elected to a four year term and is required by the Laws of the State of Kansas to record all documents that meet the State’s statutory requirements. The Marshall County Register of Deeds Office keeps the ownership of all real estate in the county through a daily updated set of index books as well as by maintaining a computerized record since 1987. An objective of the Marshall County Register of Deeds office is to continue keeping accurate records while seeking the technical advancements that secure our progress into the future.
All records in the Register of Deeds office are required by law to be open to public inspection during regular business hours except the information on a Sales Validation Questionnaire which is a closed record and cannot be viewed by the public.
The fees collected by the Register of Deeds office are set by state stature. These fees as well as other service collected fees are deposited into the county general fund which is administered by the Board of County Commissioners.
