The Marshall County Solid Waste Transfer Station is on a 20-acre tract of land in the middle of Marshall County. The tract is immediately West of the previously closed county landfill. The entrance to the Transfer Station is on Pheasant road, a county road connecting to U.S. Hwy. 77 and K-99.
The transfer station serves the corporate limits of Marshall County. Three large commercial disposal companies maintain scheduled routes within Marshall County. Additionally, small haulers, businesses and residents also deliver their waste to this site. Records show that approximately 20 tons of waste is received each day. The waste is transferred by Hamm Inc. to a landfill operated by their company near Perry, Ks.
Vehicles are weighed to determine the fee for their waste delivered. Trash and Construction/demolition materials are to be sorted not mixed within your load. If not sorted, you will be charged the regular rate of $55/ton.
MARSHALL COUNTY TRANSFER STATION DOES NOT ACCEPT:
Hazardous waste, asbestos, dead animals, yard debris and grass cuttings, medical waste, materials requiring a KDHE special waste permit, wood pallets
No salvaging is allowed at the facility. An area for white goods (washers, dryers, etc.) is established to dispose of these items.
Construction/demolition debris will be deposited at the C/D pit approved by the Kansas Department of Health and Environment
